Why we only staff senior engineers

Boutique isn't a size brag — it's a delivery model. Whoever scopes the work is the one who does it.

The body-shop model runs like this: senior people win the work, junior people do the work, and the gap between what was sold and what gets built becomes your problem to manage. It’s great for the vendor’s margins. It’s rough on your outcomes.

Whoever scopes it, ships it

We staff only senior engineers, deliberately. The person sitting in your architecture review is the one writing the Terraform. Nothing gets lost in a translation layer between the sale and the delivery, and you don’t pay for someone to learn your stack on your budget.

It does cap how much we can take on at once. We’re fine with that; it’s the whole idea. We would rather build a handful of foundations properly than a hundred from a distance.

What you get from it

Fewer, better people who have done this before, who will tell you when an idea is wrong, and who leave your team more capable than they found it.
